Semantic Error has surpassed Juvenile Justice, Twenty-Five Twenty-One, and A Business Proposal!

On the Watcha platform on which the drama was released in South Korea and of which it is an original drama, Semantic Error was during its 8 weeks of release in the top 1 of the most watched on the Watcha platform. Semantic Error

“For too long the BL genre was seen as a guilty pleasure to be enjoyed in secret. But now a new ‘golden goose’ of the genre has just emerged!” – The newspaper even pointed out strong sales of the photobook!

Semantic Error also appeared in the Korean print newspaper ‘The Hankyoreh‘:

Semantic Error – The Hankyoreh

“BL popularized queer storytelling, the beginning of a big shift.”

“Portraited as a fantasy of love between men, excluding the hatred experienced by sexual minorities, the romantic drama ‘Semantic Error’ pioneered this genre in such a narrow world.”

“In the early years, BL was a genre of darkness, but now BL is becoming a genre of light.”

Semantic Error sparked a huge surge in popularity for K-pop group DKZ (Park Jaechan‘s group) after the drama’s release. Demand for the K-pop group’s latest album has increased significantly after the release of the BL drama!

DKZ

After the drama was fully released and due to the huge success of the drama, actors Park Jaechan and Park Seoham began to receive several accusations, among the mildest, Park Seoham was accused of bullying in his school days, and Park Jaechan received the accusation that he smoked and that he bullied his colleagues.

Note: Some accusations are extremely strong, and some people may not like to read this, so out of respect for the reader and also for the actors, we decided not to add, it is worth remembering, that these are all just lying accusations made with the intention of destroying the actors’ careers; unfortunately, this is very common in South Korea.

Park Seoham

In response to the allegations, Npio Ent. (Park Seoham’s agency) has issued a note stating that it would take legal action against the people who were spreading these slanderous and defamatory messages against the actor.

Park Jaechan

Dongyo Ent. (Park Jaechan’s agency) also issued a statement, stating that it would file legal actions against people who were creating false rumors about Park Jaechan. The agency also reported that even before Park Jaechan’s debut, the agency had already researched everything about him, so that future problems could be avoided. The company concluded:

“Dongyo Ent. will never sit back and allow them to unfairly trample on a flower that is just beginning to bloom.”

Semantic Error

Semantic Error tells the story of Chu Sang Woo (Park Jaechan), who is a junior computer science student who values reason, rules and who has a strict sense of right above all else. As part of his university work, he is instructed to work on a group project for the liberal arts, in which the group is required to give a final presentation to pass the module. But the rest of the group he knows nothing about has decided to let him do all the work himself, he decides to drop their names and make the presentation in his name only. But little did he know that when he did that, he would deal a severe blow to the academic prospects of a senior student named Jang Jae Young (Park Seoham). The latter, a design expert, is the opposite of Chu Sang Woo. He’s stylish, fun and most of all extraordinarily popular. But when his liberal arts project credit is withdrawn, his grand plans to study abroad are suddenly thrown into thin air. He seeks out Chu Sang Woo and intends to torment him. But as the two get to know each other better, a strange attraction begins to develop between them.
